I made these pictures in Autumn 2021. The world was still in Covid chaos. I had just go my state pension and for the first time in my life I had the time and space to look at what I wanted to do. All my life stuff for me has been squeezed into the spaces in between caring for parents, work on the farm in the early days, child care, work etc. The black marks are in some ways representative of duty and in others just the rhythm of life - the regular and not so regular things that we need to do like gardening, house maintenance laundry, cooking , shopping etc and the big splodges are the stuff that gets in the way like illness, breakdowns, storms; things going wrong in any way.
